Ending Workplace Sexual Harassment – Our Holistic Support

October 2024 saw a change in UK employment law, placing a responsibility on employers to take reasonable steps to protect employees from workplace sexual harassment. The Worker Protection Act (amendment of the Equality Act 2010) changes the duty on employers from redress to prevention.

To help employers do this, we are working with Prettys Solicitors, combining our skills in legal, cultural and leadership support to tackle workplace sexual harassment at the root cause.

How?

We have a three stage process, designed to address key leadership concerns of line manager capability, brand reputation and risk management:

  1.  A situation review by Prettys employment law partner, Matthew Cole. Determining your organisation’s current risk context, with the findings of this presented back under legal privilege.

2. Leadership action-planning, working with employment law, DEI and employee communication specialists to support your senior team in deciding the actions they need to take for their                         organisation, based on the review findings.

3. Turning those actions into reality. This will be tailored to each organisation, but could include:

    • Line manager skills development
    • Employee engagement and communication activities
    • Positive intervention support for employees
    • Policy and process redevelopment

By working with us, you will be an employer that is going beyond dealing with the tip of the iceberg, and is committed to helping end workplace sexual harassment for good.

A new approach is needed, which combines a deep understanding of the issues, together with a desire to help organisations make a measurable improvement, We all want to work in a safe workplace. The introduction of ESG programmes is helping, but most organisation will admit to being far from where they want to be.     – Matthew Cole, Partner, Prettys Solicitors
