Free Webinar: DSARs and their Impact on Social Communication Channels

October 23, 2024 @ 9:30 am - 10:30 am

Are you sending chat messages and written conversations via Teams? What about workplace WhatsApp or Messenger groups? Maybe you have Slack channels or internal social media such as Workplace or WorkVivo?

If you receive a DSAR (Data Subject Access Request), you must search these platforms for any personal information if it falls within scope, as UK GDPR legislation applies to any social media activity carried out in a commercial or professional context.

We use these social channels to engage our teams in conversations, fast organisation and updates and many other positive things. But the social nature of these communication methods means employees may write more candidly and frankly than they would in more formal communication settings such as email.

In this free webinar, we’ll be in conversation with Matt Spall and Pippa Scotcher, DSAR experts at the DPO Centre. We’ll be talking about how the explosion in workplace social communication channels has impacted DSARs, and how HR teams can support their organisation to more effectively manage the content on these platforms. We’ll be exploring what type of social communication content falls in and out of scope of a DSAR and the impact this has when compiling a response.

If you have responsibility for responding to Subject Access Requests in your workplace, this is a webinar you won’t want to miss.

Delegate information: Registration details of delegates will be held by Waddington Brown and the DPO Centre.
