Thinking and working strategically not about the job you hold, it’s about the curiosity you have for your business and industry and how you put that into action.
So says speaker Tom Bryant in this fast-paced webinar that gives you actions and practical tips for changing the way you work to add value, give your or your team’s credibility a boost and save yourself time in executing high quality partnership with your organisation.

Top takeaways from Tom’s webinar:
- Setting aside time to listen to stakeholders away from current projects is part of being able to do your job well
- Invest 5% of your time in listening, so that you have 95% of your time being spent on activities that are of actual value
- Knowing the common themes and connecting the dots between departments makes what you have to say of much greater value to senior leaders
- Turn off the distractions and be completely present for those conversations. People won’t open up if they feel you’re not completely invested in your time with them
- Decide on your non-negotiables for your week and make them sacrosanct. Making yourself less available, makes you more valuable
- To embed the use of time blocking, show the results you get from it, talk about it, pay it service to helping you achieve your aims
- You know you will be disrupted during the week, so having your non-negotiable times means you can respond to those disruptions rather than react
- If you feel blocking time out won’t work, then structure your week using ‘purpose’ rather than ‘task’
- Does this feel scary? What happens if people don’t like you saying no? The conversation is about achieving the bigger picture. If you know your time is being spent on those valuable activities, then it becomes easier to turn down someone else’s agenda that will drain you.
