What’s going on in your workplace WhatsApp groups? Or Slack channels, messenger or Teams chats? What conversations are being had?
If you receive a DSAR (Data Subject Access Request), you must search these platforms for any personal information if it falls within scope, as UK GDPR legislation applies to any social media activity carried out in a commercial or professional context.
We use these social channels to engage our teams, make fast plans and changes, and many other positive things. But the social nature of these communication methods means employees may write more candidly and frankly than they would in more formal communications such as email.
In this webinar, we were in conversation with Matt Spall and Pippa Scotcher, DSAR experts at the DPO Centre. We talked about:
** How the explosion in workplace social communication channels has impacted DSARs
** How HR teams can support their organisation to more effectively manage their channel content.
** What type of social communication content falls in and out of scope of a DSAR
** The impact this has when compiling a response.
If you have responsibility for responding to Subject Access Requests in your workplace, this is a webinar recording to definitely watch
